I follow the Rolex subreddit and the horror stories people have about their AD’s really makes me never want to buy a Rolex. Also, hate to say it, but I feel like Rolex is basically modern day Gucci. Rolex watches are coveted by many men, but they don't appeal to everyone! Case in point: here are 7 reasons I'd personally never buy a Rolex.I follow the Rolex subreddit and the horror stories people have about their AD’s really makes me never want to buy a Rolex. Also, hate to say it, but I feel like Rolex is basically modern day Gucci. I hate the fact if everyone were hating Rolex and ppl can just walk in store buy any Rolex on spot MSRP, I still do not have enough saving for a Daytona. All that being said, I do hate rolex as a company. I think they basically just continue to run on brand recognition and the way they create artificial demand for their watches is just straight up anticonsumer. Love the watches, hate the company. The Rolex Submariner is an unfortunate victim of its own success. The amount of people out there wearing a Submariner is enormous. The number of fakes out there, and the number of homages out there means that Rolex’s Submariner is far from a unique watch.The Watch Magazine takes a look at Rolex’s most hated watch, the Milgauss. Read this article online now. The hate for Rolex is wild on this forum. Some of it has its grounds in reality, while most is just people who can’t afford one complaining for no other reason than they’ll never have the money for one.
I used to be a Rolex hater. I bought a Panerai then an Omega. I always said Rolex was dumb cause it was so popular and people that don't know about watches get a Rolex. Even worse was my opinion on the Submariner. Others simply call it the cost of business – don’t hate the player, hate the game – and indeed a number of consumers probably like the fact that Rolexes (and other watches) becoming so.
